MarComedy: Don’t make me laugh

For what tickles my fancy in media, communications and life in general.

Collaborate or Die (or at least fade away)

Over the past week or so, Don Tapscott and his associate Anthony D. Williams have been featured on the GlobeandMail.com where they have been writing on the subject of their new book, Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything.

It makes for interesting reading as they dissect how wikis have changed (and will continue to change) how people can work collaboratively to maximize knowledge, productivity, innovation, etc…For the authors, this new technology and way of working heralds a new era in business operations and opportunities.

I haven’t read the book, though will v. shortly, but this strikes me as being a must-read for those interested in technology, social media and how it will change the way we live and work (esp. work).

If you go to the Wikinomics site, you’ll find the obligatory blog and background info on the project. But what I like most is the "wiki" page. Here the authors prove they are not just talking the talk, they are walking the walk:

Wikinomics has 11 chapters, but only ten have yet been written. Chapter 11, The Wikinomics Playbook, will be written by you: a community of readers and experts like yourself who will share ideas about how to embed key Wikinomics concepts and principles in 21st century organizations and business enterprises.

Collaborate and prosper.
