I’m Jonathan Dunn.

I work at Vortex Mobile. We provide mobile marketing and mobile business tool solutions. My role there makes me a bit of a ‘jack of all trades’. I coordinate communications & marketing and provide business development support. Before that I was at Marketing magazine where I was an Account Manager for the advertising and pr communities (along with a few other things). I’ve also spent time doing business development for an ad agency and an online job board. My academic background is in Philosophy (what was I thinking?) and I’m in the final stages of completing a PR diploma from Ryerson University.

The title of this blog refers to my interest in examining the amusing, irreverant, stupid or thought-provoking sides of the marketing, advertising, media (social & traditional) and public relations worlds. That said, I often veer off-theme when I find items that pique my interest. I’ll post on technology that I find interesting or political issues that resonate with me. I’ll try to share relevant personal experiences that might prove useful for readers working in the same field as I do.

I have no motivation with this blog except as a vehicle to share some of the ideas that are bouncing around in my head. I will, from time to time, post on topics related to my professional life (but will offer up disclosure to the fullest extent possible).
